The owners required a five-bedroom house on a small lot accessed from a residential street and back alley. The house takes advantage of tall ceilings to increase the apparent size of the smaller rooms. A full basement, large front porch, and detached studio utilize the small site to its full potential.
The house is oriented directly to the backyard activities, including an outdoor fireplace, barbecue, and play area. The edge of the backyard is defined by the alley-accessed garage and studio.
